THIS has established a trusted and highly professional service that has been engineered to provide our customers with a single point of contact and support for all of their mercury-related waste requirements on a turn-key basis, from project operations (waste generation) all the way to final disposal including, but not limited to: handling / filtration / reduction / stabilisation / neutralisation / separation / bulking / packaging.
Additional support requirements include:
- the provision of fully licensed and insured transportation
- full UIWM (Uniform Industrial Waste Manifest) and TFS (Trans Frontier Shipment) chain of custody documentation, where required
- in-house designed, maintained and operated RMTR (Recovered Materials Tracking Register) with full client access, live RFID scanning and tracking of assets, containers and waste, report generation, support document archive and photo evidence archive
- recommendation on legal, licensed and cost effective final disposal facilities
- pro-active verification of all transport, driver and disposal facility insurances, licenses and certificates PRIOR to collection/disposal
By providing this turn-key solution THIS provides a tailored waste disposal service ensuring that all parts are dealt with using a Best Practice approach, in full compliance with both local and international laws and regulations without the usual practice of bulk charging customers for highest level disposal costs and similar practices carried out by multi-waste type disposal facilities.
Services include a dynamic pre-treatment, reduction and stabilisation process that can utilise other waste streams received from the client prior to separation and packaging ready for transportation.
Waste streams include, but are not limited to: steel / catalyst / sludge / water / fluids / acids / alkali / PPE / filters / asbestos / etc.
CWFS: Contaminated Water Filtration System
The CWFS is a containerised filtration package currently employed in Australia to treat water recovered from decommissioned pipelines. Recovered water is filtered online, batched, analysed and discharged overboard once it meets the acceptance criteria, so it never has to be shipped to shore for third-party disposal.
The system is modular with interchangeable filter seating, so it can be reconfigured on site to suit the sample analysis at each stage. Stages can be run in parallel for maximum throughput, or switched to series to increase filter retention time or re-filter where required, and single vessels can be isolated to change filters or troubleshoot without taking the rest of the system offline.

Waste Minimisation
The cheapest hazardous waste is the waste you never create. Decontaminating steel and equipment to a standard that permits recycling, rather than hazardous disposal, is consistently the largest single reduction in decommissioning waste cost.
Filtration
Separation of solids from liquid waste streams to reduce volume, recover reusable fluid and concentrate the contaminated fraction into the smallest possible mass for treatment.
Waste Stabilisation
Chemical stabilisation, neutralisation and encapsulation so that treated arisings meet the acceptance criteria of the receiving facility and remain stable in transport and storage.
Incineration
Thermal treatment for organic and mixed waste streams that cannot be recovered, stabilised or landfilled, using HARRIS, our own relocatable rotary incinerator system.
Waste Disposal
Routing to legal, licensed and cost-effective final disposal, with insurances, licences and certificates verified before collection rather than after.
Transport & Chain of Custody
Fully licensed and insured hazardous transport under UIWM manifest on our own Ror Aor 8 licensed HIAB crane trucks, with documentation that stands up to audit against OSHA, MOI and PCD requirements.
